Lent Book Study – I’m Still Here by Austin Channing Brown

During the season of Lent, St. Augustine’s is joining the Episcopal Diocese of New York in its Year of Apology as we examine the role our Diocese and communities of faith played in the slave trade and racial injustice. I’m Still Here: Black Dignity in a World Made for Whiteness by Austin Channing Brown is a provocative and insightful account of one woman’s experience of being a black woman in a church and society that privileges whiteness.

Starting on March 12th our Brown Bag series will study this book from 12 pm-1 pm on Thursdays through April 2nd. We will also have two Book Study gatherings to discuss I’m Still Here on Sunday, March 29th at 3:00 pm and Thursday, April 2nd at 7:00 pm for those who cannot attend the Brown Bag series.
